#NewTwitter Rolls Out Worldwide

Twitter Brand Page: Pepsi Co

The #NewTwitter is rolling out worldwide. Whether you have the new interface yet or not, it might be worth knowing what’s new, and what it’ll mean for you, your brand or your business.

What’s New?

Twitter is now divided into four main categories for ease and simplicity:

  1. Home - your timeline, faster and easier.
  2. Connect - interact with others and see who's interacting with you.
  3. Discover - find great new content from people that you may or may not follow.
  4. Me - your content such as Lists, DMs, Images.

This makes everything much more organised, and easier to find. Not only this, but photos and videos are now entirely integrated into Twitter so you can view them without having to click a link and visit a 3rd party website.
According to Jack Dorsey, chairman of Twitter, one of the reasons for a redesign was to make “Twitter more accessible for all 7 billion people on the planet.” Dorsey added that the company has made it “simpler not just for people already engaged but easier for new people to discover it and find value in it. It’s the best place to represent yourself on the Internet.”

New Brand Pages

The big news is there will now be brand pages. They work in a very similar way to the Facebook brand pages in that they are an area for businesses to promote themselves with stronger branding options than regular pages.
Whilst the brand page element isn’t available for all brands yet, launch partners for the pages include American Express, Best Buy, Bing, Chevrolet, Coca-Cola, Dell, Disney, General Electric, Hewlitt-Packard, Intel, JetBlue, Kia, McDonald’s, Nike, PepsiCo, Staples, Verizon Wireless, NYSE Euronext, Heineken, Subway and Paramount Pictures, specifically for the release of Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol.

Brand pages are expected to be released to the rest of the world soon.
