Glasshouse in partnership with Channel 4's recently launched 4ip fund announce a prestigious panel of Saul Klein (Index Ventures/The Accelerator Group), Zenna Atkins (Columnist - The Guardian), Tom Loosemore (Head of 4iP) & Martin Stiksel (Last.fm), who address the challenge of how best to harness innovation and entrepreneurship to deliver public service in the digital age.

About the Panel/Speakers:

Saul Klein

Saul is a Partner at Index Ventures and also a Founding Partner of The Accelerator Group. He has over a decade of experience successfully building companies in the US and Europe as an entrepreneur, seed investor and operator. He was the co-founder and original CEO at what has now become Lovefilm International and part of the executive team at Skype. He started Seedcamp and OpenCoffee Club in 2007 to help support seed and early stage entrepreneurs in Europe.

Zenna Atkins
 
Zenna is a much sought after speaker on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), leadership & governance and advises the Government on a range of issues including health, social engagement and social entrepreneurship. Zenna is a regular columnist for The Guardian and has been published extensively. In 2000, Zenna won the 2000 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Southern Region.

Tom Loosemore
 
Tom Loosemore was appointed to the newly created role of Head of 4iP at Channel 4 in September 2008. Prior to 4iP, Tom was Senior Advisor of Digital Media Strategy at media regulator Ofcom, while, previously to this, he was at the forefront of the BBC's digital media strategy. He was one of the authors of 'Building Public Value', the BBC's ten year strategic vision. Tom has strong entrepreneurial credentials, having launched the local information website UpMyStreet.com, and contributed as a journalist to the UK edition of Wired Magazine.

Martin Stiksel

Martin came to London from Austria in 1995, where he created a sound design company (working on commissions for the likes of MTV and the BBC), before meeting Felix Miller at a gig in the late ‘90s. The two of them set up an online record label, before launching Last.fm in 2002. Last.fm was acquired by CBS in May 2007.

Jon Gisby

Jon is Channel 4’s Director of New Media and Technology in November 2007 and has the task of expanding Channel 4’s presence in online digital media. Jon is responsible for overseeing the 4iP fund while also sitting on the board of ‘Project Kangaroo’, the BBC Worldwide, ITV and Channel 4 video-on-demand joint venture. Prior to joining Channel 4, Jon was Vice President of Media and Communications for Yahoo! Europe.
