Description

London Startup Weekend (http://london.startupweekend.org) will take place June 4 - 5 - 6 2010 in just 2 weeks at the IBM offices on London’s Southbank.

Startup Weekend is the place to come for anyone with a new idea that they want to see brought to life. Over the weekend teams work together to take the ideas and create real new ventures. Anyone with an idea or interest in being an entrepreneur is welcome. People with a background in developing for web or mobile, design skills, marketing experience or entrepreneurial talents are welcome. It’s hoped the event will attract about 100 people from London and surrounding cities.

Damien Saunders, Organiser said “London Startup Weekend is different to other events, because people come together to create new and fresh business models that use the internet and technology” and this will not be the only Startup Weekend event in London this year, there are also plans for similar weekends around the UK.

WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF THE WEEKEND:

Startup Weekend is a great experience for everyone that comes along ... the best thing about the weekend is what you take away from - this includes practical stuff like building your network or learning more about setting up a business.

You choose to work as a team and at the end on the Sunday night, teams present their business model, working prototype or maybe its a video - each team has a chance to win one of the many prizes.

Everyone walks away from the weekend having learnt alot and probably looking forward to a long sleep-in.

AND AFTER THE WEEKEND:

We want to setup monthly drop-in sessions so that all these brilliant ideas have a great chance of success
