'The Unfair Advantage'

Hosted by Julie Meyer (BBC Online Dragons' Den and CEO of Ariadne Capital) the Entrepreneur Country Winter Forum will help you discover ways to get ahead of the competition with three key discussion points.

“We know who you are”

The next business battleground will be over the information users release through their online activity and who owns the economic value of that data. At Entrepreneur Country we believe the winners of this next phase of the web will be those companies who architect business models which organise the most inclusive set of economics for all of the players in the transaction. We call this Ecosystem Economics.

‘Game on!’

Game mechanics are being infused across industries and businesses so that the distinctions between the gaming world and real life are starting to blur. Over the last 12 months gamification mechanics have come to the fore as they are built into non-gaming websites, services, communities and even university lecturers - turning work into play. Social competition is a key human trait and we are seeing how this is being exploited in the next wave of the social web and digital services. As technology advances we are enabling life-like experience in game terms. The implications of gamification are fascinating and far reaching; where gamification is already impacting everything from e-commerce to personal privacy and from the workplace to the media-scape.

‘Is your vision 2020?’

How will future technology transform and influence the key areas of social, travel, commerce, healthcare, and media. What are the key emerging trends, what are the impacts for others in the ecosystem and who are the start-ups that are pioneering a new frontier? You have seen it in the movies: Minority Report, Inception, The Matrix etc... but it IS coming soon and it is coming to a location near you!
