Description

Join Tomas Petricek and Phil Trelford, for this two day Fast Track to F# course and learn how to get the most out of functional and concurrent programming concepts through practice. Find out why F# is increasingly used in domains such as finance, gaming, mobile/web development, testing and more and learn how to solve complex problems with simple, maintainable and robust code through real-world examples. Upon completion of this Fast Track to F# course, you'll understand how F# simplifies domain modelling and testing and will know how to use some of F#'s killer features for asynchronous and concurrent programming alongside data processing.

Tomas Petricek has contributed to the development of F# during two internships at Microsoft Research in Cambridge and together with Jon Skeet wrote Real-world Functional Programming. He is a long time F# enthusiast, using F# since the early Microsoft Research versions. Tomas is also a founding member of the F# Software Foundation. A popular speaker on all things F#, Phil Trelford is a Software Architect at an ISV supplying real-time electronic trading software. Phil has been running the London F#unctional Programmers group which meets monthly at Skills Matter and has run workshops, dojo's and hackathons on F# for several years. Before joining ISV, Phil has been developing F# applications at Microsoft. His career so far spans over 15 years, with experience in video games, leisure, retail and financial sectors.
