Description

Come to our meetup to find out more about the Food Open Data Challenge!

Are you thinking of participating in the Food Open Data Challenge or just curious to find out more? This initial meetup is an opportunity for you to learn more about the challenge process, to discuss the challenge question, to hear insights from our user research and potentially to develop your product idea and find inspiration from new team mates and contacts.

This event is co-hosted with Food Tech Wednesdays.

Background

The Open Data Institute and Nesta are running an open data challenge around the theme of Housing. The challenge competition invites particpants to use open data to develop products and services that tackle a specific UK Food challenge.

The specific challenge question is:

How can we use open data to help people eat more healthily, eat more sustainably and/or have a more secure food chain?

The aim is to help teams use the open data available to develop products and services to support the increasing number of people who are renting, both in the private rented sector and in social housing.

Can't make it?

If you’re unable to attend the meet up but would like to sign up to participate in the challenge, please create a profile and add your project idea here on our CollabFinder page.

Don't forget you can always contact our Food Challenge Champion, Amy Cooper @SECRETSEEDSoc of the Secret Seed Society (or us!) if you need any help refining your ideas.
