FLASH: ADMIN: Bouncing Mail

Hello Everyone,


Sorry for the silence, as you're all aware a mail loop occured on the list

sometime in the last few hours. Hopefully it is all straightened out now,

and you shouldn't receive any more email like this. I can only apologise

for the nightmarish stream of ever increasing bounces that some of you

received.


Just to let you know that there are a whole range of filters set up on the

mailing list to try and prevent this type of thing happening (as any of you

who accidentally have sent Unsubscribe messages to the list address will

have found out). The format the bounced email turned up in, was different

to any that have occurred before and slipped through the net.


I have updated filters accordingly across all the lists to stop this

happening again. It was also exacerbated by the setup of the offender's

email system, which handled bounced messages incorrectly. Instead of

pointing them to the error address, they were sent right back to the list.


Thank you for your patience, normal service now resumes...
