Java? Are you serious? If anything is unlikely to work on all platforms, let
alone get through a corporate firewall, it's Java. Most corporate firewalls, by
the way, will even filter out Javascript, so if your site depends on JS for
navigation (very common) it's going to unusable at a HUGE number of desktops. The
most popular site that we run gets most of its hits during weekday lunchtimes, not
evenings or weekends - a lot of UK users get their internet access at work, so it
makes sense to use neutral technology that works everywhere.
