Small rant. Does anyone have any idea why this cock eyed system is
being instigated. Surely it would have made sense to give the entire
country 7 digit phone numbers, 3 digit area codes and dropped this 0
nonsense in front of numbers - in 0171, 0 is a national dialing prefix,
not a part of the phone number. This makes it confusing when giving out
numbers, do I include the 0 or not or, when you are given a number,
which part is the code and which part is the number. Come to think of
it, they could have made this change during the last, and supposedly
final, great number change.
