Gender 50/50: Get With It

Toby Daniels, co-founder and CEO of Crowdcentric, blogged that “We do not have fair representation, and we have not achieved a 50/50 balance in men and women participating in our events."

The Gender 50/50 movement is truly about getting an even balance of men and women participating in Social Media Week, whatever the city may be. This is a call out to get an equal divide in advisory boards, event organizers and speakers. The ultimate goal is, by 2014, to have a 50/50 balance in everything.

Chinwag wholeheartedly supports this for Social Media Week London 2013 and that’s why our advisory board has a nice 50/50 divide. Double check it yourself.

Do your part too! When submitting an event, reevaluate the balance of participants. Nominate female speakers and tweet your commitment by using the hashtag #Gender5050.
