This month we are focusing on two things: Cassandra internals (some fundamental data structures and algorithms) and Cassandra Query Language (CQL, coming in version 0.8). Hopefully these topics will be of interest to seasoned Cassandra experts plus people with more of a general interest in distributed databases.

7.00pm Meet and chat with other Cassandra users

7.30pm Talk: Lorenzo Alberton on Bloom Filters, Merkle Trees and some interesting variants

7.50pm Talk: Andrew Hyde on the key-value dictionary that underlies the Acunu storage core (based on a doubling array, like a COLA, but with the ability to do lightweight snapshots and clones) plus an introduction to Fractional Cascading

8.10pm Talk: Introduction to CQL (speaker TBC)

8.30pm Finish up; more discussions then off to the Slaughtered Lamb at around 9pm for more drinks
