Since joining BT in 1988, Jonathan Mitchener has undertaken a wide range of roles, including research, systems deployment, and technology & management consultancy. His current role as BT Futurologist results in him working with executive and senior strategists in various companies to help them understand the impacts of future disruptive technologies on their businesses. He has a special interest in device and gadget futures, which resonates within a whole range of business and personal life contexts. He recently authored the chapter on device futures within the book, ICT Futures. Jonathan has recently been appointed to the advisory board for the BBC's science magazine 'Focus' as futures expert. She is also Senior Trend Hunter for Trend Hunter magazine where she reports on future trends, from a marketing communications perspective, and was also cited as one of the world's top 10 Trend Hunters by the magazine in their 2008 report. She is also host for the London arm of Likemind where forward thinking people meet monthly and share their opinions on future trends.

More recently, he co-founded and served as President and Vice Chairman of Schematic, a 300+ person interactive agency based in Los Angeles, New York & Atlanta.
